- Why only 4 sizes in the 84604E set? These four sizes (E16, E18, E20, E24) represent the high-torque fasteners most commonly found in heavy-duty automotive chassis and drivetrain components. It is a curated “Power-User” kit.
- Can I use these with a manual breaker bar? Yes. While optimized for impact wrenches, the Cr-Mo construction and deep profile make them excellent for manual high-leverage use on stubborn E-Star bolts.
- Why is “Deep” important for E-Star sockets? E-Star bolts are frequently used as “stretch bolts” in cylinder heads or transmission mounts where the bolt head is deeply recessed. A standard-length socket simply cannot reach them.
- Is E-Star the same as Torx? “E-Star” refers to the External version of the star profile (the “female” socket for a “male” star bolt). It is often called E-Torx®
