Why is the 3608MBV essential for EV repair? Electric vehicle batteries operate at high DC voltages (often 400V–800V). Standard chrome tools are conductive and can cause catastrophic short circuits. The 3608MBV insulation prevents arcing and protects the technician.
What is the “indicator” function of the insulation? The dual-color molding (typically red over yellow) serves a safety purpose. If the red outer layer is nicked or worn through to the yellow layer, the insulation is compromised, and the tool is no longer safe for 1000V work.
