3617AP System Optimization
- What is the advantage of the 3617AP-2 (12-Point) option? 12-point sockets are critical for work in restricted swing areas where a 6-point socket would require more room to reset. They are also required for specialized 12-point fasteners often found in drivetrain components.
- When should I use the Sliding T-Handle? The 8″ Sliding T-Handle is best for applying balanced, two-handed pressure to prevent the socket from “cocking” or tilting on the fastener, which is a common cause of bolt damage.
- Is the 7″ Ratchet sufficient for the 7/8″ socket? While the ratchet handles most tasks, for the initial loosening of the largest (7/8″) fasteners, it is recommended to use the 10″ Flexible Handle to protect the ratchet’s internal gears.
- Maintenance: The polished finish should be wiped with a clean cloth. Periodically apply a drop of light oil to the ratchet head and the flex-head pivot to maintain smooth action.
