Feature
- What is a “Holey Star” bit used for? It is used for Tamper-Resistant (Security) Torx screws. These screws have a small pin in the center of the star-shaped hole. A standard Star bit will not fit; only a “Holey” bit with the center recess can engage these fasteners.
- Why does Hans use S2 steel for the bits instead of just Cr-V? S2 steel is significantly harder and more elastic than standard Cr-V. Since the “Holey” design removes metal from the center of the bit, using S2 steel is critical to ensure the bit doesn’t snap under high pressure.
- Can I use these on standard (non-security) Star bolts? Yes. Holey Star bits are backwards compatible. They fit both standard Star fasteners and security Star fasteners.
- Is the rail rack included? Yes, the 46025-48 set comes pre-mounted on a professional Socket Clamp Rail Rack for easy inventory management.
