Why do I need a 100mm or 200mm XZN bit? European car manufacturers often place XZN (Triple Square) bolts deep inside the engine or behind suspension parts. A standard 55mm socket won’t reach them. The 4028-4 (100mm) and 4028-8 (200mm) act like an extension and a tool in one, providing “Absolute” direct torque to the bolt.
Can these be used with impact wrenches? No. These are Hand Sockets made of S2 steel and Cr-V. Using them with an impact gun can shatter the S2 bit. For power tools, you must use the 84028 series (Chrome-Molybdenum).
What is the benefit of the S2 steel bit? S2 Alloy Steel is much harder than standard chrome steel. Since XZN bolts have 12 sharp points, you need a bit that won’t twist or round off when you apply the high pressure needed to loosen a cylinder head bolt.
