Why use a 150mm socket (4026-6) instead of a standard socket with an extension? An extension bar introduces a “wobble” or play in the connection. The 4026-6 provides a single, rigid shaft from the ratchet to the fastener, ensuring the torque is applied perfectly vertical, which prevents the hex bit from slipping or stripping the bolt.
Does the hardness change between the 100mm and 150mm versions? No. All bits are forged from high-grade S2 Silicon Alloy Steel. The hardness remains consistent, but the longer bits are engineered to handle the increased torsional twist that occurs over longer lengths.
Can these be used for SAE fasteners? These specific pages refer to the Metric (mm) range. However, Hans manufactures the same S2/Cr-V architecture for fractional sizes.
How do I clean the dual-finish on the bases? The Chrome Vanadium base is mirror-polished; simply wipe with a clean cloth. The S2 bit has a specialized industrial coating to prevent rust; keep it dry and lightly oiled for maximum longevity.
