Why use S2 steel for the bit and Cr-V for the base? S2 steel is harder and better at resisting wear at the tip where the tool meets the bolt. Cr-V is tougher and better at resisting cracking at the square drive end. Combining them gives you the best of both worlds.
What is the difference between the 46026-11 and 46026-11P? The only difference is the Ratchet Handle. The 11 uses the standard N-series (textured grip), while the 11P uses the Mirror Polished P-series (all-steel).
Is the metal case better than plastic? For a 1/2″ drive set of this weight (covering up to 19mm hex), the Steel Metal Case is the standard for integrity. It prevents the tools from shifting and can withstand the heavy impact of a commercial workshop.
Can these be used for high-torque industrial bolts? Yes. The 1/2″ drive platform combined with S2 steel allows for significant leverage, especially on larger 17mm and 19mm hex fasteners.
