Feature
3029 Ribe Bit Socket Optimization
- Is a Ribe bit the same as a Torx bit? No. A Ribe bit has a different spline geometry with flat ends. Using a Torx bit on a Ribe bolt will cause the tool to slip and destroy the fastener head. Always use the 3029 for Polydrive/Ribe hardware.
- Why do I need the 100mm (3029-4) length? Modern overhead cam (OHC) engines often have head bolts located deep inside the head casting. The 3029-4 provides the necessary clearance to attach your 3/8″ ratchet without hitting the camshaft or valve gear.
- Can I use these with an Impact Wrench? No. These are Hand Bit Sockets. While the S2 steel is incredibly hard, it is not ductile enough to survive the hammering of a pneumatic tool. Use a manual breaker bar or torque wrench for best results.
- Maintenance: Periodically check the bit splines for metal debris. A clean bit ensures the best contact surface with the bolt.
