Feature

  • Why is an inserted bit better than a one-piece for these lengths? Using an S2 insert allows for a more specialized heat treatment on the bit itself. This ensures the hex tip is hard enough to grip the bolt, while the Chrome Vanadium base remains tough enough to handle the torque from the 1/2″ drive ratchet without being brittle.
  • Can the S2 bit be replaced if it breaks? While these are professionally pressed in for safety and permanent use, the two-piece design allows for much higher precision in manufacturing compared to forging a single 150mm long hex tool.
  • How does the S2 insert handle the length of 150mm? S2 Silicon Alloy is chosen specifically for its “elasticity.” At 150mm, the bit will actually twist slightly under load—this is normal. S2 steel is designed to spring back to its original shape once the pressure is released.
  • Is the size marked on the bit or the socket? The size is deep Die-Stamped into the Chrome Vanadium base, ensuring you can always identify the tool even if the S2 bit becomes covered in grease.
