84618M is an industrial-strength 18-Piece Impact Socket Set designed for heavy-duty use with pneumatic and cordless impact wrenches. Built on the 1/2″ Drive platform, this set provides a comprehensive metric range from 10mm to 32mm, covering almost all standard automotive and industrial fastener requirements. Forged from Chrome Molybdenum (Cr-Mo) steel, these sockets are engineered to absorb the high-frequency vibration and extreme torsional “shocks” of power driving without cracking. The set is housed in a professional Metal Case, ensuring the tools are protected in high-intensity workshop environments.
Feature
Mechanical Logic:
- Cr-Mo Metallurgy (Chrome Molybdenum): Unlike hand sockets (Cr-V), these are forged from Cr-Mo steel. This material is more ductile, allowing the socket walls to flex slightly under the “hammering” of an impact wrench rather than shattering.
- 6-Point (Hex) Profile: The internal geometry is a deep 6-point design. This distributes the massive torque of an impact gun against the flat sides of the fastener, significantly reducing the risk of rounding off bolts.
- Black Phosphate Finish: Treated with an industrial black phosphate coating for maximum corrosion resistance and oil retention.
- Thick-Wall Construction: Engineered with increased wall thickness to provide the mass needed to transfer the maximum kinetic energy from the impact tool to the fastener.
- Cross-Hole & Groove: Every socket features a safety hole and groove at the drive end for use with a locking pin and O-ring, essential for operator safety during overhead or high-speed operation.
