Feature
- What is the advantage of Cr-Mo over Cr-V? For impact use, Cr-Mo is safer. It is slightly softer and more elastic, which allows it to absorb the “hammering” effect of an impact gun. Standard Cr-V is too brittle and can shatter under these forces.
- Can I use these for wheel lug nuts? Yes. The sizes 17mm, 19mm, and 21mm in the Metric set are the global standard sizes for most passenger vehicle lug nuts.
- Why is the finish black? It is a Black Phosphate coating. Unlike chrome, it will not flake off when vibrated by an impact gun, ensuring you don’t get sharp metal flakes in your workspace.
- Are these 6-point? Yes. Impact sockets are almost always 6-point because they offer thicker walls and more surface area to handle the high-torque load.
