Feature
- How does the RN Holding Ring work? The ring is a spring-steel circlip seated in a groove at the tip of the S2 bit. When you insert the bit into a hex bolt, the ring compresses, creating a friction lock that holds the bolt securely so it doesn’t fall off.
- Is the RN ring durable for high torque? Yes. The ring is designed for retention, while the S2 steel hex faces handle the actual torque load. The ring does not interfere with the strength of the bit.
- Why use a Clamp Rail (8C/9C) instead of a standard rail? Standard rails rely on gravity. The Hans Clamp Rail uses mechanical spring tension to “bite” the socket. You can shake the rail or hang it upside down, and the 1/2″ drive sockets will not fall off.
- Can I replace the ring if it wears out? The 4026RN is built as a professional industrial component. Under normal use, the ring is highly durable, but the bit itself is the primary wear surface. The ring is recessed to prevent damage during high-torque turning.
