What does the “C” in 36024-9C stand for? The “C” indicates that this set comes with a Clamp-style Rail Rack. It is a professional storage solution that keeps all 9 sockets locked in place, so they don’t roll around in your toolbox and are always in order from T8 to T40.
Why is S2 steel used for the bit instead of Chrome Vanadium? We use S2 Alloy Steel because it is a “Screwdriver Bit” grade steel. It is harder and more resistant to twisting than Chrome Vanadium. The socket base is still Cr-V for strength, but the part that touches the screw is S2 to ensure it doesn’t strip the fastener.
Can I use these with an impact driver? No. These are Hand Sockets for manual use with ratchets or torque wrenches. While S2 steel is very tough, the 3/8″ drive base is made of Chrome Vanadium, which can shatter if used with a pneumatic or cordless impact tool.
